What a month! I am just now getting back to “the blog” after our almost 3-week trip east. It has been exhausting trying to get back into the swing of things!
We left on the 9th of August and headed to Washington state. We went to my Grandma and Grandpas farm first. We had such a blast on my grandparents farm! We got to spend time with my mom’s step-sisters, it was such a lovely time!
While in Washington, we were able to go to our family cabin at Bumping Lake WA. It has been in our family for 50 years. My great-grandparents bought this beauty and we have been able to keep it in the family even after they passed.
It was amazing to see all of our family that we haven’t been able to see in years due to military obligations. Mom hadn’t seen her brother, cousins, aunts and uncles in almost 16 years. It was so wonderful to see the emotion and love that filled the place.
It was also so comforting to see how my great-grandparents were still with us in many ways. From the fridge on the front porch to the pictures on the walls… even the way we all prayed before we ate. It was wonderful!
After our trip with my family, I packed my kids up and we headed east. Our first stop was in Raleigh NC to visit my husbands grandparents on his fathers side, and his aunt. All of whom I adore dearly.
We also got to see my brother Daniel, who is in the Army.
My children just love all of them and had such a great time in Raleigh… despite the hot weather! I must say we have been spoiled with our Montana weather!
After Raleigh, we headed even further south to Enterprise AL, where I first met my husband 10 years ago. Going to the small town of Enterprise always brings back memories!
It was great spending time with my mother-in-law and brother and sister in law, Berts grandma on his mom’s side, my husbands aunt and his cousin and her son! We love them dearly and had a great time with all of our family!
Berts mom took us to Florida for a few days, so we got to do some shopping and got to spend the day at the beach! It was a lot of fun! Bradley actually got in the water this year. Unfortunately Bradley and I both took a beating from the sun and we are still trying to recover.
As soon as we got home (and I’m not going to lie… I am SO happy to be home), I had to jump right into my college classes. I have decided to go back to school to pursue my life long dream of becoming a dentist (gross, I know).
I have taken on a full load of classes, so please be patient with me as I adjust to a new routine. I have a few projects I need to finish before christmas and a lot of fun fall projects! September first is here and it’s almost time to put up fall decor… I may have started early! Stay tuned to see how Mom maid this adorable fall wreath!
