Brinner… A term I was unfamiliar with until Saturday night.
My husband and I invited his boss and wife over for what I always called “breakfast for dinner”. I love having people over and hosting. I thought having “breakfast for dinner” would be a nice little mix to your normal dinner get together. I learned that night, I’ve been using the wrong term for “breakfast for dinner”my whole life… There is a much simpler name! “Brinner”. I’m sure this term is known by everyone but me!
All in all we had a wonderful time eating mom’s waffles and pancakes and my eggs and sausage-balls. It was a fun get together with great company and yummy food.
Sausage balls are always a great hit. I’ve made them more times than I can count ( mostly because my son and husband are addicted to them) and I never get a complaint! Instead I get people asking for more or at lest the recipe! My husbands Grandmother taught me how to make them. She had the technique down to an art form and I was lucky enough to have been taught her ways! So here it is!!!
The recipe for sausage balls:
1 1/2 to 2 rolls of sausage ( I use jimmy dean country mild or hot)
about 8 to 10 oz of shredded cheddar cheese
21/2 to 3 cups of Bisquick
You will mix all of the ingredients by hand. I only use 1 1/2 rolls of sausage and a little more than the 21/2 cups of Bisquick. Mixing by hand can by hard, but make sure that everything is mixed well.
Roll into inch sized balls and place on a cookie sheet covered in tinfoil and sprayed with cooking spray. Cook for 12 min at 425 and then flip the sausage balls over and cook for 12 more minutes.
They are simple and oh so good!
